Hira, Solid Wood Coffee Table

The Hira Coffee Table is a low, monolithic timber piece in deep dark oak, hand-built in the UK from thick reclaimed boards. Four solid planks run the full length of the table, sitting on two chunky block legs, the whole form just 23cm from the floor. The dark stained finish picks up the natural grain and patina of the timber, giving the piece a quiet architectural weight rather than rustic warmth.

At 122cm long and 60cm deep, it works as a low centrepiece for a large sofa, a sculptural plinth between two seats, or a serving table in a restaurant or hotel reception. Each piece is built to order in our UK workshop, so dimensions can be tailored if your project needs a specific fit.

Hira means flat or level in Japanese. The piece earns the name through form, not posturing.

As every Hira is hand-built from reclaimed timber, no two are exactly alike. Slight variation in colour, woodgrain and dimensions is natural to the material and the making, and is part of what gives each piece its character.
