Wooden Coffee Tables

Low, solid wooden coffee tables, each one hand-built to order in our UK workshop from thick reclaimed timber. These are not veneered or flat-packed pieces. A wooden coffee table here is a single heavy form, dark stained to bring out the grain, built to sit quietly at the centre of a room for decades.

Two forms anchor the collection. The Hira runs 122cm long and just 23cm from the floor, a low plinth for a large sofa. The Kura is shorter and a little taller at 84 x 28cm, sitting between a coffee table and a generous side table. Both are made from reclaimed boards, so knots, grain figure and tone vary from piece to piece.

Choosing a solid wood coffee table

Measure the sofa first. A long, low form like the Hira suits a deep three-seater; the more compact Kura works in a smaller room or beside a chair. Because each solid wood coffee table is built to order, dimensions can be tailored to a specific space.

Caring for reclaimed timber

Dust with a soft dry cloth and treat occasionally with a wood oil. Small variations in the reclaimed timber are the character of the material, not a fault.
